Your Estate Plan Might Need A Refresh
FREE Estate Planning Workbook
May 1, 2025 - Life is always changing-and when it does, your estate plan should keep up.
Whether you've welcomed a new grandchild, experienced changes in health, or
faced the loss of a spouse or a child, it's important to make sure your
plan still reflects your wishes and current circumstances. Those who have
lost a spouse may need to take on new estate planning responsibilities to
ensure that everything is clear and up to date.
Here are a few key reasons for revisiting your estate plan:
- Family updates - Births, marriages, or losses may change who you want to include.
- Financial shifts - Retirement, a home sale, or changes in assets can impact how you'd like things distributed.
- New responsibilities - If you're now the one in charge, you may want to revise roles, back-ups, or decision-makers.
- Charitable gifts - Charitable giving is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy to those charities closest to your heart. If you have an IRA or other retirement account, you may want to speak with your tax accountant or lawyer about the potential tax advantage of naming charities as beneficiaries of your IRA or other qualified retirement account.
Reviewing your estate plan doesn't mean starting from scratch-it's simply
making sure it still fits the life you're living today. A little attention
now can offer peace of mind and make things easier for those you care about
most.
We can help you get your estate planning ducks in a row. Our FREE Estate Planning Workbook
is a fill-in-the-blank booklet you can use to organize information. The
workbook also includes descriptions of some of the ways you can include the
